Travel Tips – prepare for your trip

Be prepared for warmer weather

The Gulflander railmotor, with over 70 years of history, offers a charming heritage experience. However, the train is not air-conditioned. Each carriage provides open-air windows, but during warmer months, the interior can feel hot and humid.

Come prepared for warmer climate:

  • Stay cool - wear lightweight clothing
  • Stay hydrated - bring plenty of water with you for the trip

Make the most of your day

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes
  • Wear sunscreen, bring a hat and sunglasses
  • Bring along insect repellent
  • Take motion sickness tablets if you are easily affected by travelling in vehicles and onboard trains
  • We are cashless. Our railway stations accept credit and debit card payments only.
  • To find out what you can bring aboard the Gulflander, please visit our Luggage page
